OFS Portal

OFS Portal represents a number of major service contractors working together to provide a common base for standardized catalogue information for their products and services.  The aligned approach is aimed at facilitating e-commerce within the oil field services industry, in order to deliver the benefits and cost savings promised by e-commerce to both buyers and suppliers.

TRADE-RANGER

Trade-Ranger is an Internet-based global marketplace for trading goods and services in the energy and petrochemical industries. It aims to support online supply chain management in the upstream, downstream, petrochemical and retail sectors by bringing buyers and sellers together in an independent, neutral and secure marketplace.

IMHH

IMHH, The UK oil and gas industry has established a mutual hold harmless scheme that is free for any supplier or contractor who carries out work offshore in the UKCS. More details are available on their website.

OMG

OMG, The Offshore Media Group specialises in daily news coverage of the North Sea oil and gas business. Established in 1999, www.offshore.no is by far the most popular of its kind in Norway, with more than 7,000 members on its ‘NewsByMail’ service. The website now incorporates news from the UK and is becoming a popular source of information for both UK and Norwegian oil & gas companies. OMG's international website www.oilport.net was established in 2003 and is used by, among others, Shell’s European organisation as the main news source on their Intranet website.

As part of the UK-Norway harmonisation process, First Point has teamed up with OMG to promote its ‘NewsByMail’ service and hopes its registered Purchasers and Suppliers will sign up to this free service.

 
Oil & Gas Industry Forums & Trade Associations

EIC 

Energy Industries Council (EIC).  The EIC is a leading trade association for the marketing and promotion of UK based companies involved in the supply of goods and services to the global energy industry. The EIC also provides information on business opportunities and relevant industrial trends on a global basis.

EEEGR 

East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).   EEEGR is dedicated to representing the national and international business interests of East of England member companies, and promoting the East of England as an area of expertise in the offshore and renewable energy sectors.

IADC 

International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC).   The IADC is an internationally based trade association involving drilling contractors, producers and associate organisations. Membership is open to any company involved in oil and gas exploration and production, well servicing, oil field manufacturing and other rig site services.

IRO

Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Oil and Gas Industry (IRO).   The IRO represents some 300 member companies, which are Dutch suppliers in the oil and gas industry.  Its aim is to further the interests of the Dutch upstream industry, onshore and offshore, in the fields of politics, economics and technical affairs on a regional, national and international level. The IRO provide an FPAL representative service in The Netherlands for all suppliers.

LOGIC 

Leading Oil & Gas Competitiveness (LOGIC).  LOGIC is an industry based organisation that works with companies throughout the UK industry to stimulate collaboration and improve competitiveness.  It aims to support an improvement in the UK oil and gas sector performance by an estimated £1Bn over the next three years and increase export performance by 50% over the next five years.

NOF

OCA

Offshore Contractors' Association (OCA).  OCA is a representative body based in Aberdeen for the UK's oil and gas contracting and supply.

Oil & Gas UK

Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. Its members are licensed by the Government to explore for and produce oil and gas in UK waters and those who form any part of the industry’s supply chain. Oil & Gas UK provides a Supply Chain whereby meaningful dialogue can take place and through which pan-industry projects can be project managed.

UKTI

UK Trade & Investment. UK Trade & Investment is the Government organisation that supports companies in the UK doing business internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to set up or expand in the UK. Its role is to help companies realise their international business potential through knowledge transfer, and on-going partnership support. To support its aim to "enhance the competitiveness of companies in the UK through overseas trade and investments; and attract a continuing high level of quality foreign direct investment", UK Trade & Investment offers services to:

  • UK businesses that want to grow their business internationally
  • Overseas businesses that want to locate in the UK

WSCA 

Well Services Contractors Association (WSCA).  WSCA is a trade association established in 1999 to represent the interests of well services contracting companies operating in the offshore UK oil and gas industry.

ITF 

Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) was established in 1999 by the oil & gas Industry Task force (now Pilot), UK DTI and the oil industry. It is a not for profit organisation owned by 13 operating companies who have operations in the North Sea. The ITF’s primary aim is to bring new technology to market by a number of means including identifying the shared technology needs of its operating company members and creating field trial opportunities.

SAOGA 

South African Oil and Gas Alliance (SAOGA) was established in 2003, the South African Oil & Gas Alliance is an industry body representing South African companies and government agencies offering a broad spectrum of supplies and services to the offshore oil and gas community in West Africa. The Alliance enjoys the support of over 400 registered members offering engineering, construction, fabrication and repairs & maintenance to offshore oil and gas developments. Through our database operators can access a wide range of competitive, reliable South African world class supplies and services which are accredited to international oil and gas standards.
